In my eyes if you are not distributing that other database then I don't see that you would have any issues. I personally don't see replication as 'distribution' either. Can you comment on the impact of GPL 3 when using Ext.nd to provide a user interface to a non-GPL database? I am thinking in particular of the scenario of a bespoke database that is built in-house, or by a consultant for one client.
