Many things that worked fine in XP were removed or changed and caused me problems which I didn't want to have to deal with. The regular Macbook at $1099 is actually comparable to just about any PC I could price with the same components (CPU speed, video, etc.). My Mantra for years was "I don't compute on fruit!" but lately I've started to become swayed. I'm eyeballing a Macbook Pro myself (I just got a new beefy Dell with Vista, that I'm not in love with. But it will be hard to justify the purchase to my wife!) and I just recommended to a co-worker that he buy a Mac desktop for his home as opposed to a new PC.
