Announced today is the first beta release of Safari for Windows. Grab a copy from apple’s site here. They claim it is faster than all of the other leading browsers, though I’d wait for some external testing before believing their claims :P.

Apple tries to toss in a download of the new version of quicktime by default. Also the installer tries to offer some additional “Bonjour Service” but you can opt out of anything you don’t want.

Will be nice to be able to test out sites in Safari now…

  2. Hmm… I haven’t had it crash on me yet, I’ll give it more of a try and see what happens.

  3. I’m not a big fan of Safari’s spartan interface, but I am a big fan of it’s font rendering and speed. Much nicer than Mozilla based browsers IMO.

Not an option for pc users, but on Mac, OmniWeb is an outstanding web browser based on Safari. Keeps the speed and nice rendering, adds much more features and a nicer looking interface.
