I can tell you’re all excited to finally hear me speak so here’s your opportunity. Taking Notes Episode 59.
Thanks again to “The effervescent” Julian and Bruce for a great show.

Rich,
Julian is the one who is effervescent - not me

Heh, that’s how I meant it to read. I suppose a comma in there would have helped

Do you plan to commercialize this along the same lines as Ext? Is that something you have discussed with the other “primary” players? I think the opportunity is a big one.
The approach taken by Ext/Jack Slocum has “legitimized” that product in my mind. It’s a statement they are in it for the long haul rather than just a temporal new cool thing that may not be around 6 months from now.
From a long-term perspective I would be concerned leaving applications in the lurch if say a major new browser/Notes release breaks something that isn’t actively kept up to date. Something I fear if it is *only* an open-source project on openNTF project.
While no guarantee of success, making it a business at least indicates it’s more than a side project that may wither when the “thrill is gone”.
And if yes to the business part then any idea of time frames.
Thanks.

Great question. We’ve talked about this quite a bit and have decided to most likely stick with the same licensing and support options that Ext offers.
We have not yet ironed out a time frame, but you should see some more information and our initial beta release fairly soon.
